“It’s hard to believe that MATTAWA VOYAGEUR DAYS will be celebrating 20 YEARS
hosting this fantastic and fun filled festival July 28-30, 2017” says Jacques Begin Chair Mattawa
Voyageur Days. “We really never had any time-line set or how this would progress. We just
knew that we wanted to offer a fun event for everyone to come and enjoy Mattawa and what our
community has to offer”.
Mattawa Voyageur Days has by far surpassed all thoughts and dreams of the Committee’s
expectations with amazing community events and activities and one of the strongest music
lineups of any festival anywhere in its days. But what Mattawa Voyageur Days also
accomplished was putting our small town Mattawa on the Provincial and national map for
visitors and for those in the music industry. “Professional music acts actually contact us wishing
to come and play our festival. That in itself speaks loudly on the caliber of our festival.”
So…how will the Committee recognize and celebrate 20 years of this festival. “We have had a
number of discussions on the line-up…and what better way to recognize 20 years than to do
what we do best…a Classic Rewind and see if we can re-do what we did year 1…and that’s what
we did it!!!.”
Mattawa Voyageur Days is EXTREMELY pleased to announce that TORONTO, HEADPINS
lead singer THE DARBY MILLS PROJECT and TROOPER along with special guests PRISM
will headline Mattawa Voyageur Days SATURDAY JULY 29, 2017 FROM 5PM-MIDNIGHT.
And for Friday July 28, 2017 New Country ROCK will see DAN DAVIDSON and THE ROAD
HAMMERS highlight a ROCKING Friday night. We will also have a special guest with
STOMPING TAW CONNORS – Stomping Tom Connors’ son perform an hour of his father’s
greatest hits after the dedication ceremonies of the new Big Joe Mufferaw Statue.
“We are so fortunate to have the 3 bands that kicked off year 1 reunite and come play year 20
and back together on the Mattawa Voyageur Days stage. Plus the Friday night new country and
special presentations…this is a total WOW !!!”
And there is more to come with the Town of Mattawa’s Tribute to Canada 150 on Sunday July
30 and so many other events and activities which will be held all weekend long.
